Former Miss Nevada USA Katie Rees is not getting her title back after losing it because she appeared in scandalous photographs, and that’s final, pageant officials said in response to speculation that pageant co-owner Donald Trump.”The Miss Universe Organization has thoroughly considered the request of Ms. Katie Rees to be reinstated as Miss Nevada USA 2007,” Paula M. Shugart, president of the Miss Universe Organization, said in a statement. “In light of the serious nature of the circumstances, there is no recourse but to stand by our decision.” Trump made comments that he was looking at the decision to fire Rees, fueling speculation that the Rees might be reinstated. Rees was stripped of her title after racy photos of her appeared on the Internet. Some of the photos showed Rees kissing other young women, exposing one of her breasts and pulling down her pants to show her thong underwear at a party in Tampa, Fla. Rees’ lawyer had also asked that she be given a second chance similar to the one recently given to Miss USA Tara Conner, who was caught drinking in New York bars when she was still underage. Trump decided to allow Conner to remain Miss USA after she agreed to go into rehab and undergo drug testing.

The Sheriff’s deputy, James Mee, who arrested Mel Gibson for drunken driving six months ago says his superiors have harassed him ever since a report detailing Gibson’s anti-Semitic tirade was leaked to a celebrity news Web site. “Deputy Mee was transferred to another assignment, interrogated for several hours, and investigators seized a computer and phone records during a search of his home,” his attorney said.”His life and career would be a lot different had he not made that arrest,” his attorney, Richard Shinee said. Neal Tyler, a division chief who oversees the sheriff’s office where Gibson was booked, denied that Mee was singled out and said he didn’t know of any problems with Mee’s treatment. He declined to discuss Mee’s specific complaints because of confidentiality rules, but he said, “I disagree with the assessment that personnel in the department or at the station have been relating to him or supervising him in an unfair manner.” Mee arrested Gibson July 29th in Malibu on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol. An arrest report signed by Mee and posted on the celebrity news Web site TMZ said Gibson was belligerent and quoted him as saying: “The Jews are responsible for all the wars in the world.”Gibson later apologized to the Jewish community and pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor charge of drunken driving. After Gibson’s much-publicized arrest, investigations were opened into whether Gibson received preferential treatment, and into who leaked Mee’s report to TMZ.”My client has denied he gave the report to anyone,” Shinee said.

In terms of novelty, Pamela Anderson’s upskirt photographs may not rank very high, because it is Pamela Anderson after all. But what they lack in originality, they more than make up for in terms of sheer inevitability. Unlike a Britney Spears upskirt, a Paris Hilton upskirt, or even a Linsday Lohan upskirt, that could easily have been avoided with a quick skirt check, and maybe a few less drinks, this Pamela Anderson upskirt was going to happen no matter what. You can blame Physics, or the Champaigne, or the fact that Anderson’s wearing what has to be one of the shortest outfits ever, there’s no denying that a skirt that short will never stay down for very long. It hardly even covers her when she’s standing. But unlike Britney, Paris or Lindsay, at least she’s wearing matching underwear.Check out Pamelas photos!!

Pallbearers lifted the gold casket carrying the “Godfather of Soul,” James Brown, into a horse-drawn carriage for a procession through Harlem to the historic Apollo Theater, where thousands of fans waited to pay their respects. As the carriage began rolling, people followed in the street singing the chorus of Browns anthem, “Say it Loud Im Black and Im Proud.” Brown, who died of heart failure Christmas morning at 73, will lie in repose on the stage where he made his 1956 debut.”He was a superstar for common people, and I wanted to make sure that common people got to see him one last time,” the Rev. Al Sharpton said, at the start of his journey from Georgia to New York.”It’s going to be a royal day in Harlem,” he said, promising “the kind of homecoming we haven’t seen in a long time, if ever, in the Harlem community.” The Apollo Theater prepared for long lines of people paying their respects to Brown, whose unique style of soul and funk left a large imprint on hip-hop, disco and rap music. “Brown loved it when people lined up outside the Apollo for his shows,” Sharpton said.”His eyes would get wide. He’d smile,” Sharpton said. “My dream is that I can say, ‘Mr. Brown, they were lined up for you one last time.’”

Daniel Craig may be too much of a gentleman to say it, but there is nothing like the satisfaction of making critics and angry fans eat their words about his selection as the newest and some say the best, James Bond ever.Craig was upset by the launch of a website where fervent critics were urging 007 fans to boycott his debut in ‘Casino Royale’ before seeing the film.Craig said that he tried to take ‘Bond’ to a place he’d never been before. “I watched every single Bond movie three or four times, taking in everything I could about how the character had been portrayed in the past,” he said. Now Casino Royale is officially the most successful James Bond movie of all time, after passing the $454 million mark at the global box office. Casino Royale was released last month and has been screened in 64 countries worldwide.. The 21st 007 film, and the first to star Daniel Craig as the suave superspy, has overtaken the previous record of $431 million made by the last Bond movie starring Pierce Brosnan, Die Another Day in 2002.The producers were so confident in their choice of Craig as the ‘New Bond’ that he was already signed to reprise his role in the upcoming Bond 22 before Casino Royale was even released.

Tara Conner will be quietly welcoming the New Year at Pennsylvania’s Caron Foundation rehab center. At the ritzy rehab center 70 miles outside of Philadelphia, the hard-partying nights that almost cost Miss USA her tarnished crown are no more. There was no going home for Christmas, and New Year’s will be a quiet affair, nothing like what will be going on in the Chelsea clubs where she boozed it up with a way-too-fast crowd for a “role-model” beauty queen. Instead, Donald Trump has required her to enter the 110-acre Caron Foundation, in order for her to keep her Miss USA crown. She will remain there for a 28-day drying-out regimen. Treatment at the Caron Foundation starts at $24,000 for the month-long stay.Conner has settled into a quiet routine of therapy, chores, addiction education and group sharing.”She most likely will be in bed by 11 o’clock,” sources close to the facility said. An 11 o’clock bedtime makes sense, since she will be expected to be up by 6:30 a.m. to start a day with back-to-back treatment sessions. She spends her days with other women in a quaint white clapboard house on the Caron grounds. She won’t be treated like the beauty queen she was while she resided in a posh Trump-owned apartment. She eats her meals in the cafeteria with the other women in treatment and makes her own bed each morning. She is also assigned chores, like mopping and cleaning.Conner had been reluctant to admit that she has a problem with drugs and alcohol before she arrived at the facility. She tearily told reporters that she didn’t think she was an alcoholic, but that people should accept free therapy whenever they are offered it. The program may be free for Conner, but someone, most likely Trump himself, is certainly footing the bill for her to “get better.”

Reportly the second half of the series’ third season, including the Rodriguez episodes, is scheduled to begin in February.

Paul McCartney has reportedly told estranged wife, Heather Mills McCartney, she will make nothing from their impending divorce because he didn’t earn any money during their four year marriage. McCartney has provided his estranged wife’s lawyers with a statement, and is hoping Mills McCartney will not fight the divorce in a court because he claims she would “end up with nothing.” McCartney, whose amassed fortune is rumored to be around $585 million, made his money before marrying Mills McCartney in 2002. He says he had a financial loss until 2006, after embarking on several world tours.A British lawyer says, “It’s a good tactic for Paul, but also quite a high-risk strategy. Only about 10 percent of contested divorce cases go down this route. Paul is trying to persuade Heather’s team to advise her to come to an agreement, by suggesting she could end up with nothing if the divorce goes to court. In essence, Paul is showing her how bad it could be for her.”

James Brown’s lawyer says the late singer and his partner weren’t legally married and that she was locked out of his South Carolina home for estate legal reasons. Tomi Rae Hynie, one of Brown’s backup singers, says the couple was married and she can prove it. The war of words continued as Hynie, Brown’s partner and the mother of his 5-year-old son, camped out at an Augusta hotel with no change of clothes and no money.”It’s not a reflection on her as an individual,” lawyer Buddy Dallas said of the decision to bar Hynie from Brown’s home in Beech Island, S.C. “I have not even been in the house, nor will I until appropriate protocol is followed.” “Hynie was already married to a Texas man in 2001 when she married Brown, thus making her marriage to Brown null,” Dallas said. He said Hynie later annulled the previous marriage, but she and Brown never remarried.”I suppose it would mean she was, from time to time, a guest in Mr. Brown’s home,” Dallas said. Brown died at an Atlanta hospital Monday. After his death, Hynie found the gates to the Brown’s home padlocked and said she was denied access. Hynie argued that she has a legal right to live in the home with the couple’s 5-year-old son. “This is my home,” she told a reporter outside the house. “I don’t have any money. I don’t have anywhere to go.” Hynie said she had documentation to prove she was legally married to Brown. She said they had planned to renew their vows but not remarry. She indicated that while annulment papers relating to her previous marriage initially may not have been filed properly, a judge had told her she was legally married to Brown. Dallas said legal formalities needed to be followed, adding that Brown’s estate was left in trust for his children. He declined to elaborate on Brown’s final instructions.”Ms. Hynie has a home a few blocks away from Mr. Brown’s home where she resides periodically when she is not with Mr. Brown,” Dallas said. “She is not without housing or home.” Dallas said Brown and Hynie hadn’t seen each other for several weeks before his death. Hynie said Brown had sent her to California for a few weeks to relax on the beach after a recent concert tour. Hynie said she believes Brown’s representatives were trying to discredit her so that his estate wouldn’t have to be shared with her. She acknowledged that the bulk of the estate was left to Brown’s children, but said Brown had told her she could live in his home with their child as long as she wanted. Hynie and Brown had a sometimes tumultuous relationship. Brown pleaded guilty in 2004 to a domestic violence charge stemming from an argument with Hynie and paid a $1,087 fine. He was accused of pushing Hynie to the floor at the home and threatening to kill her.Brown is survived by at least four children, said his agent, Frank Copsidas.

Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban have reunited in her hometown of Sydney after he completed treatment for alcohol abuse, according to media reports. Urban checked himself into the Betty Ford rehabilitation treatment center in October, with Kidman by his side. He flew into Sydney on Tuesday, Australian Associated Press reported.Photographers caught Kidman and Urban holding hands as they left the United International Pictures office. The couple said nothing to the media as they walked to a car and were driven away. Kidman has been in Sydney since before Christmas and is working on a movie there. Urban hasn’t visited Australia since he married Kidman in a lavish Sydney wedding in June. The couple gave no sign of tension following an American model’s claim of an affair with Urban, which she said ended only a month before his wedding to Kidman. Amanda Wyatt, a 23-year-old part-time model who said she met Urban at a bar, claimed their relationship began in 2004 and continued until May of this year, just a month before Urban and Kidman married.

Britney Spears’ public image has been spiraling out of control for the past few months. Her lack of a publicist, or publicists, may be the reason. Only three months after Spear’s last publicist quit, she’s lost another one. Spears has been without a personal publicist since October, after parting ways with Leslie Sloane Zelnick. In the interim, Sonia Muckle, a publicist at Spears’ label Jive Records, has been handling her less-than-favorable recent press coverage. Now Muckle has had enough and is moving on and leaving Jive to start her own marketing and promotions company. Muckle insists her departure has nothing to do with Spear’s recent antics, which include spending numerous nights on the town with Paris Hilton and being photographed without underwear. She says, “I left of my own accord. This has been in the works for several months.”

Melanie ‘Mel B’ Brown has hired a top Hollywood lawyer in her paternity battle with Eddie Murphy. Mel B, who was dumped by Murphy during a TV interview, has hired celebrity lawyer Don Engel to help her take Eddie “to the cleaners.” A source claims: “Mel is refusing to lie down and let Eddie walk all over her, and this is reflected in her choice of a lawyer. She wants to hit him where it hurts the most, in the pocket. They don’t come much better than Don.” It has been estimated that with the help of her $500-an-hour legal advisor, Mel could get as much has $30,000 in lifelong payments for their child. However, Murphy has demanded a DNA test to prove the child is really his. Engel, is considered one of Hollywood’s most successful lawyers and enjoys taking on high profile work. The source added: “Don’s services don’t come cheap, but he one of the best lawyers around. Most lawyers would relish taking on an A-list star and Don will surely be no exception. This is a war and if Eddie doesn’t know it, he will very shortly.”

Former Miss Nevada USA Katie Rees is begging for a second chance, after being stripped of her title due to scandalous photos of her that surfaced on the Internet. In a press conference held in Clearwater Beach, Florida, Rees, said, “These images were from an isolated incident during my teenage years, long before my consideration to compete in the Miss USA program. While I take full responsibility for the photographs, this incident does not reflect who I am or who I plan to be. I am so sorry this happened.” Rees went on to say she hopes her experience will serve as a cautionary tale to other young women. “Please don’t let your guard down when it comes to being photographed,” she said. “As you can see, just one mistake can have great consequences.” Rees said she had contacted Donald Trump, co-owner of the Miss Universe organization, and is awaiting a response. Her attorney, Mario Torres, says that they have contacted the Trump Organization to request that Rees be reinstated as Miss Nevada USA.”We are still waiting to hear back from them,” says Torres. “They have not yet responded.” Donald Trump, who owns the pageant, said, “Katie Rees, deserved to be dumped for those pictures.”"Did you see those pictures?” Trump screamed. “Unlike Miss USA, who made some bad choices, Miss Nevada is a real problem. It’s a much different thing, and a much bigger problem.” Rees’ lawyer Mario Torres said that she was wrong to pose for the salacious shots three years ago, when she was 19. But he said Rees deserves another chance, and may have grounds for a lawsuit.”Ms. Rees clearly acknowledges that her actions were not appropriate and regrets that she failed to clearly think about the consequences of those actions,” Torres said, adding, “We find it inequitable that Ms. Tara Conner was able to retain her crown and that Ms. Rees is not able to do the same.”

Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger will need crutches, screws to secure his thigh bone and several weeks of recovery after undergoing surgery on his broken leg, his surgeon said. Schwarzenegger was admitted to an undisclosed Los Angeles. While he is under anesthesia, which is expected to last no longer than two hours, Lt. Gov. Cruz Bustamante will be acting governor, said Andrea Lynn Hoch, the governor’s legal affairs secretary. He had surgery to repair his fractured right femur, which he broke while skiing with his family in Sun Valley, Idaho, during the weekend. The surgical team performed an open reduction internal fixation on the upper part of the thigh bone. The surgery lasted an hour and a half, the Governor was cleared to resume his duties as Governor at approximately 10:45 a.m. and he is expected to have a full and speedy recovery.”As is standard for this type of surgery, the Governor will be kept for observation for three days,” said Dr. Kevin Ehrhart, the orthopedic surgeon performing the surgery. Ehrhart said Scwharzenegger’s recovery would take about eight weeks and cables and screws were used to secure his upper right thigh bone. “Schwarzenegger does not intend to delay his second inauguration, scheduled for Jan. 5,” said spokeswoman Julie Soderlund. The fracture is the Governor’s third medical problem in just over a year. In January, he needed 15 stitches to repair his cut lip after colliding with a car while riding his motorcycle in Los Angeles. He also spent several hours at a University of California, Davis, hospital last December with a rapid heartbeat while he had the stomach flu. Officials haven’t said which trail the Governor was skiing on at Sun Valley when he broke his leg. The resort has a black diamond trail dubbed “Arnold’s Run” in honor of Schwarzenegger.

James Brown, “Godfather of Soul,” died on Christmas morning due to heart failure. He had contracted pneumonia only two days earlier. It was just 24 hours after he lead his yearly toy giveaway in Augusta, Georgia. “Soul Brother Number One,” “the Godfather of Soul,” “the Hardest Working Man in Show Business,” “Mr. Dynamite”, those are all appropriate titles, but no one can question that James Brown has earned them more than any other performer. Other singers were more popular, others were equally skilled, but few other musicians have been so influential on the course of popular music. No other musician, pop or otherwise, put on a more exciting, exhilarating stage show; Brown’s performances were marvels of athletic stamina and split-second timing. He was one of the figures most responsible for turning RB into soul. He was, most would agree, the artist most responsible for turning soul music into the funk of the late ’60s and early ’70s. Since the mid-’70s, he’d slowed artistically. His financial and drug problems eventually got him a controversial prison sentence. His music is now more influential than ever, as his voice and rhythms were sampled on innumerable rap and hip-hop recordings, and critics have belatedly hailed his innovations as among the most important in all of rock or soul. Brown is survived by his wife and four children.

Miss Nevada USA, Katie Rees, was stripped of her title after racy photos of her appeared on the Internet, pageant officials said. Some of the photos show Katie Rees kissing other young women, exposing one of her breasts and pulling down her pants to show her thong underwear at a party in Tampa, Fla.”Katie Rees has been relieved of her duties as Miss Nevada USA 2007,” said Paula M. Shugart, president of the Miss Universe Organization, which owns the Miss USA pageant. While Donald Trump approved Miss Nevada’s dethroning, it was Shugart who ultimately made the decision. “Mr. Trump runs a billion-dollar real estate company, besides owning the pageant,” she said, “His priorities are the title holders, Miss Universe, Miss USA and Miss Teen USA.” Rees’ dismissal comes two days after Miss USA Tara Conner was allowed to keep her tiara when she admitted underage drinking at New York bars and agreed to go into rehab and undergo drug testing. Rees’ attorney, Mario Torres, of Tampa, defended the blonde beauty queen in a statement, “Katie Rees Miss Nevada USA wants the public to know she had a lapse in judgment,” he said. “The actions on that evening in subject are in no way indicative of the person she is or the person she has become. She is a law-abiding citizen and talented adult. This was an isolated incident that occurred when she was younger.” Shugart made the decision to jettison Rees, but pageant co-owner Donald Trump supported it, said Miss Universe Organization spokeswoman Lark-Marie Anton. Trump, who co-owns Miss Universe with NBC, gave Conner a second chance after meeting with her Tuesday. Trump said Conner, was a good person with a good heart and deserved to keep her title.”I think Tara is going to be the great comeback kid,” Trump said during his televised announcement, with a teary-eyed Conner by his side. Apparently, there will be no comeback for Rees, whose reign was terminated because of the photos. Shugart said first runner-up Helen Salas assumed the title and will compete at the next Miss USA pageant in Los Angeles in March.

Donald Trump has stepped up his war of words with Rosie O’Donnell after she made unflattering statements about him on ‘The View’. O’Donnell called Trump a “snake-oil salesman” following his announcement that he would not fire troubled Miss USA Tara Conner. She then went on to talk about alleged extra-marital affairs and discussed Trump’s finances, claiming that he went bankrupt, a charge he denies. Trump fired back saying O’Donnell is “a woman out of control” and insisting he would be suing her over her statement questioning his financial well-being. He appeared on Good Day Los Angeles to fire yet more barbs at O’Donnell. He said, “think she’s very attracted to Miss USA so she probably wanted to put the crown on her head herself. She is a very, very unattractive woman who really is a bully. Rosie is a loser, and ultimately ‘The View’ will fail because of Rosie. Barbara Walters made a mistake and let me tell you something, Barbara’s a good friend of mine. She cannot stand Rosie O’Donnell.”
