Jason Wahler’s string of arrests have finally caught-up with him. He began serving a 30-day Seattle prison sentence for his April arrest on charges of assault and underage drinking.”Jason is taking full responsibility for his previous actions,” Wahler’s publicist Siri Gaber said in a statement. Wahler was arrested April 8 in Seattle, Washington and booked on charges of assault and criminal trespassing. According to the incident report, officers responded to a disturbance at a Marriott hotel where a security guard claimed two guests had been wrestling in the lobby. After issuing warnings to stop, the guard reportedly accused Wahler of punching him in the mouth before he was restrained by a friend. Wahler then allegedly fled the hotel, only to return “a short time later” when police found him passed out in a third-floor hallway “smelling strongly of alcohol.”"The 30-day sentence was handed to Wahler when he plead guilty to charges of assault and a minor exhibiting signs of intoxication,” Seattle City Attorney’s Office spokeswoman Ruth Bowman said. Wahler had also originally been charged with criminal trespassing, however that charge was dropped. According to Bowman, Wahler “could get out in 20 days for good behavior.” While he was not so lucky this time around, Wahler had already side-stepped an earlier jail stint. Last September, Wahler reportedly punched a tow-truck driver as well as a Los Angeles city employee and was accused of using racial slurs against the victims. He plead no contest to one count of battery and received a two-month jail sentence and was also required to attend a one-day program at the Museum of Tolerance. Wahler was due to begin serving his sentence in early May, but that was delayed by a judge due to a stint in rehab which he completed over the summer. Wahler also completed community service at a Laguna-area church mission; went to four Alcoholics Anonymous meetings a week; attended anger-management counseling; and also spoke at local high schools, warning students about the dangers of drinking irresponsibly and disobeying the law.”He has been through rehabilitation, done community service and has been attending AA meetings,” Gaber said in the statement. “He would like to be an example to young people to make them realize that there are consequences for bad behavior.”

A court commissioner granted Britney Spears three monitored visits a week with her two small sons while ordering her to childproof her house and work out a schedule for the visits with ex-husband Kevin Federline, according to a ruling made Tuesday. Superior Court Commissioner Scott Gordon also required that Spears undergo random weekly drug and alcohol tests. Spears also must continue meeting with a court-appointed parenting coach, and the children must be in car seats when they are being driven, the ruling states. The ruling came after a three-hour hearing attended by both Spears and Federline. Extensive testimony was presented on a number of issues. Gordon previously said there was evidence that Spears is a “habitual, frequent and continuous” user of drugs and alcohol. He had previously withdrawn approval for her to even visit the children after finding she had failed to comply with some conditions for shared custody. He later withdrew the ban and allowed her to visit her sons, but only in the presence of a court-approved monitor.

Britney Spears has regained temporary visitation rights with her sons, her attorney said.”Yes, she has visitation with the children,” her lawyer, Anne Kiley, said. Spears was spotted driving with the boys in the San Fernando Valley. A court-appointed monitor was in the passenger seat of the white Mercedes convertible, and her sons were in the back seat. Britney Spears, accompanied by pal Sam Lufti and her lawyer, J. Michael Flanagan, reported to a Los Angeles police station to face misdemeanor charges of hit and run and driving without a valid license, police said. Officer Mike Lopez said Spears turned herself in around 9 p.m. and left about 45 minutes later. “Spears was fingerprinted and photographed,” he said.”She was fine, cooperative,” Lopez said. “She did her business and came out.” As she left the station, she said that all went smoothly. “They were nice,” she said of the police. The charges stem from an Aug. 6 wreck during which paparazzi filmed Spears steering her car into another vehicle as she tried to turn into a spot in a Studio City parking lot. The video showed her walking away after assessing the damage to her own car. The owner of the other car, Kim Robard-Rifkin, filed a police report three days later.Spears had been ordered to report for booking before an Oct. 25 court appearance.

After a year of nasty allegations, country singer Sara Evans was granted a divorce on the grounds of irreconcilable differences. Judge R.E. Lee Davies announced the agreement at a hearing. The two sides agreed on a joint custody plan for their three children and a split of marital assets. Evans also agreed to pay ex-husband Craig Schelske alimony of at least $500,000 over 10 years.”Both parties are fully committed to raising their children in a cooperative and positive way. Both parties are loving and caring parents,” said a brief statement filed with the court by the lawyers for both sides. “They request that everyone respect the family’s privacy.” Evans filed for divorce last October after 13 years of marriage, alleging that Schelske committed adultery, was verbally and emotionally abusive, drank excessively and frequently watched pornography in their home. Schelske denied all the allegations and responded in court documents that Evans filed for divorce the same day he discovered she was having an extramarital affair. Evans denied those claims.

Kiefer Sutherland, already on probation for a 2004 drunken driving arrest, was charged with misdemeanor driving under the influence in a case the city attorney’s office said could put him in jail for more than a year.”Sutherland was charged with single counts of driving under the influence and driving with a blood-alcohol level of .08 or above,” said city attorney spokesman Nick Velasquez.”If convicted, he faces a maximum sentence of a year in jail and a minimum of four days,”Velasquez said.”We also charged him with a second DUI offense within 10 years, which we believe also violates the terms of his probation,” Velasquez added. If found guilty of violating probation, Sutherland could be sentenced to an additional six months. Sutherland remains free on $25,000 bail. He was scheduled to be arraigned Oct. 16. “Because he’s been charged with a misdemeanor, Sutherland won’t have to appear in court for his arraignment unless the judge specifically orders him to be there,” Velasquez said. Police said they stopped Sutherland shortly after 1 a.m. when they saw him make an illegal U-turn. He was arrested after failing a field sobriety test. Authorities haven’t disclosed his blood-alcohol level except to say it was .08 or above, exceeding Californias legal limit. Sutherland was also arrested for DUI in 2004, and in November of that year he pleaded no contest to one misdemeanor count. He was sentenced to five years probation, 50 hours of community service and was ordered to attend an alcohol treatment program.

Gordon ruled that Federline will take custody of his sons beginning Wednesday “until further order of the court.” Earlier this month, Gordon said Spears engaged in “habitual, frequent and continuous use of controlled substances and alcohol” and ordered her to undergo random drug and alcohol testing twice a week as part of her ongoing custody dispute with Federline. Spears also was previously ordered to meet weekly with a “parenting coach” who was to observe and report back to the court about her parenting skills. Both Spears and Federline must complete the court’s “Parenting Without Conflict” class. Spears and Federline were married in October 2004. She filed for divorce last November and it became official in July.
