Linsday Lohan’s publicist insists she would never have attended a Beverly Hills, California party had she known it was a Paris Hilton-endorsed event. Lohan was reported to have thrown a “hissy fit” at the Scandinavia Style Mansion party after spotting an advertisement for Paris Hilton Handbags on the red carpet. Lohan’s representative Leslie Sloane Zelnik also claims Lohan would not have attended the event if she had known it was sponsored by an alcoholic drink. He says, “We were never told that Paris was part of the event. Nor did we know there was a liquor sponsor. She wouldn’t have participated.” Sloan added he was informed only press from two Scandinavian magazines would be present. However, reporters and a camera crew were also at the party.

Father Still Conservator

Filed under: Celebrity News — @ 11:16 am

Britney Spears’ life remains in the hands of her father Jamie, after a claim challenging his conservatorship was rejected. Attorney Jon Eardley, who claims Spears hired him to challenge Jamie’s control of her estate and daily life because it violates her civil rights, filed a claim in the Los Angeles Court of Appeals, but the judge rejected it without even seeking a response from Jamie and co-conservator Andrew Wallet. While Britney’s team has always denied she asked Eardley to represent her, the lawyer has now produced a transcript of a phone conversation they had before Jamie was made responsible for his daughter. In the call, Britney, who purportedly set up the call through a paparazzo friend and speaks in an English accent throughout the conversation, can be heard saying: ‘Basically I want my life back. I want to drive my car. I want to live in my house alone. I want to pick my own security, see who I want to see and make it happen.”

Hogan Faces Lawsuit

Hulk Hogan is being sued by the family of John Graziano, who was left in a semiconscious state after his son Nick’s car crash last year. Former wrestling champion Hulk and his estranged wife Linda have been accused of being “negligent and directly liable for the wreck” in the suit filed by Graziano’s family, which also lists their son Nick Hogan as a defendant. Daniel Jacobs, who was also involved in the accident after racing his car alongside Nick’s, was listed as a co-defendant in the suit. War veteran Graziano, 23, was hospitalized after Nick crashed his allegedly modified Toyota Supra car after racing the Dodge Viper driven by Daniel on August 26, 2007. Graziano has been left in a partly vegetative state. After part of his brain’s frontal lobe was removed following the accident, he can only respond to heat and light. Kimberly Kohn, an attorney for the Graziano family, said she hoped the lawsuit would see the Hogans accept accountability for their son’s “reckless and negligent” driving. She added: “They not only encouraged it but they also did not take appropriate action to stop it and to protect the safety of the public.” The suit, which seeks damages of over $15,000 from the Hogan family, claims Hulk bought alcohol for 17-year-old Nick and his friends on the day of the crash. It also details a history of Nick’s driving history, including how he was pulled over twice in 2006 for speeding at over 100mph and the three speeding tickets he received in 2007. In February, Daniel Jacobs was fined $500, sentenced to 90 days probation, ordered to complete 25 hours of community service and had his driver’s license suspended for 90 days after pleading no contest on a charge of reckless driving.

Nude Photos For Sale

Filed under: Celebrity News — @ 2:04 pm

French president Nicolas Sarkozy has started his first official visit to England, the day after it was reported that an auction house is to sell nude pictures of his new wife, the former supermodel Carla Bruni-Sarkozy. Bruni-Sarkozy was attracting as much, if not more, attention than her husband during the two-day visit. Auction house Christie’s is to sell photographs of former model Bruni-Sarkozy, taken by Michel Comte in 1993, in New York next month. The French president’s office was quoted as saying the sale is a private matter. The British media has covered the president’s courtship of Bruni-Sarkozy and subsequent marriage in depth, with several using her visit as reason to reprint images from her modeling career. Many observers in France see the presidential trip as a bid by Sarkozy to regain some of the popularity that saw him elected last May. Since then, he has provoked controversy at home with his high-profile divorce from former wife Cecilia in October, followed by his relationship and marriage to Bruni-Sarkozy, a singer and former model.

Britney Spears had a cameo appearance as a love-struck receptionist on hit TV show “How I Met Your Mother.” Although her performance was well-received, it has been claimed her co-stars struggled to work with her because she refused to take off her sunglasses until the cameras started rolling. A show insider claimed: “Britney delivered her lines, but the show’s actors had a tough time reading her expressions since they couldn’t see her eyes at all.”"It’s hard for an actor to make a connection when all he sees is his own reflection staring back at him in shiny dark glasses, but no one wanted to upset Britney by asking her to take them off.”"In the end, someone said to her, ‘You will be taking the sunglasses off for the actual tapings, right?’ To which Britney responded, ‘Uh…right!’”

Dupre Was 17

The $1 million offer to the call girl linked to former New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer was rescinded because she’d already shot footage for “Girls Gone Wild.” Now it might be Joe Francis who will lose out. A lawyer for Ashley Alexandra Dupre, now 22, said that Dupre was 17 when the footage was filmed. After hearing from her attorney, the company said the video’s Internet release will be delayed.’Girls Gone Wild” founder Joe Francis originally wanted Dupre, offering $1 million for her to appear in a non-nude spread for his company’s new magazine and a chance to join the “Girls Gone Wild” tour bus.A “Girls Gone Wild” employees found archived footage of Dupre filmed in 2003, and Francis retracted the offer. In a statement, Francis said he had received an e-mail from Dupre’s lawyer Don Buchwald, saying Dupre may have been 17 in the videos shot in Miami and not 18 as Francis had first claimed. In an e-mail to one of Francis’ publicists, Buchwald said he was “informed by Ashley that the video was in fact taken when she was underage (that is 17).” Buchwald added in the e-mail that Francis was aware of Dupre’s age during the filming. Francis said he bought Dupre a Greyhound bus ticket back home to North Carolina in 2003. Dupre returned home after she spent a week on the “Girls Gone Wild” bus in Miami and filmed seven full-length tapes, which included nudity, after signing legal papers, the company said.”It was because she was underage that he sent her home on a Greyhound bus back to North Carolina. It would be outrageous at the very least to play the video of an underage female on the Internet,” Buchwald said.Francis said all nude images of Dupre were taken in public places and contain no sexual contact. He added that his company has a “corporate policy” not to use individuals under 18 in their videos. Given this policy, the company delayed the release of Dupre’s footage on the Internet. “The company was investigating the matter and will make our decision shortly,” Francis said. In the meantime, Dupre was still depicted on the “Girls Gone Wild” Web site, with a free sampling on the front page of her dancing in a bikini.

Dupre Stripped

“Girls Gone Wild” founder Joe Francis was ready to offer Ashley Alexandra Dupre, the call girl linked to Eliot Spitzer, $1 million to appear in a non-nude feature for his magazine, but pulled the offer once he found archived videos of her. It turns out the call girl linked to Eliot Spitzer had already shed her clothes for “Girls Gone Wild” as an 18-year-old while partying in Miami, the video company’s founder Joe Francis said. Dupre was celebrating her 18th birthday in Miami when she was filmed. Francis had tried to contact Dupre with an offer of $1 million to appear in a non-nude spread for his company’s new magazine, plus a chance to join the “Girls Gone Wild” tour bus, a company spokesperson announced. But Francis said someone had a revelation at a staff meeting: “Did anyone think to check the archives?” They did, he said and “there she was.”"It’ll save me a million bucks,” Francis said. “It’s kind of like finding a winning lottery ticket in the cushions of your couch.” Francis said at that point, his offer was off the table. “We actually had been dealing with her rep,” he said. “Our offer was the real deal. We just never made the connection.” According to a “Girls Gone Wild” press release, Dupre visited Miami in 2003 to celebrate her 18th birthday. After fighting with a friend and getting thrown out of her hotel, Dupre found a nearby “Girls Gone Wild” bus, the company said. She signed legal papers and spent a full week on the bus, filming seven full-length tapes which included nudity and same-sex encounters, according to the company.”I personally ended up buying her a Greyhound bus ticket back home to North Carolina,” Francis said. Dupre’s public profile has skyrocketed since former New York Gov. Spitzer resigned earlier amid the prostitution scandal. He was accused of spending tens of thousands of dollars on prostitutes, including a February tryst with a call girl named “Kristen,” since identified as Dupre.

Francis Enters Plea

“Girls Gone Wild” video empire founder Joe Francis pleaded no contest to child abuse and prostitution charges under an agreement allowing him to go free after nearly a year in jail. Francis returned to Florida after posting a $1.5 million bond in Nevada, where he is awaiting trial for tax fraud. The hearing in Bay County state court resolved his 2003 criminal case involving the filming of underaged girls during spring break on Panama City Beach. “I have never committed any crime. I pleaded guilty just to get out of jail,” a defiant Francis said after the Bay County state court hearing. “A few corrupt individuals were able to keep an innocent man in jail for 11 months.” He pleaded no contest to one count of felony child abuse and two counts of misdemeanor prostitution. He also pleaded no contest to two additional child abuse counts on behalf of his company, Mantra Films. The charges were all that remained out of an original 73-count indictment brought after Bay County law officers raided Francis’ hotel rooms and corporate jet in 2003. He also pleaded guilty in a 2007 case for having contraband in the Bay County Jail. Judge Deede Costello sentenced Francis to 339 days, the time he has already served in Florida and Nevada. Costello also ordered Francis to pay more than $60,000 in fines, court costs and restitution to the county. Francis said plea agreement negotiations are under way in the Nevada case and he hopes to resolve them soon.

Spears To Pay

Filed under: Celebrity News — @ 1:37 pm

Britney Spears was ordered by a court commissioner to pay ex-husband Kevin Federline $375,000 to cover his attorney fees in their child-custody dispute. Commissioner Scott Gordon ruled that Spears’ actions led to a great majority of the litigation and delays in her custody case with ex-husband Kevin Federline. Mark Vincent Kaplan, Federlines lead attorney, had asked for nearly $500,000. Gordon issued the order in response to arguments presented last week. Spears’ attorney Stacy Phillips argued that Kaplan was overbilling and that Federline can pay his own legal bills, but Gordon wrote that Spears’ actions led to a great majority of the litigation and delays in the case. Spears has had very limited contact with her two toddler sons, who are under the sole physical and legal custody of Federline. Spears’ father, James, was named one of two co-conservators of her estate after she was hospitalized twice in January. The conservatorship has been extended until July 31.

$48.6 Million Settlement

Filed under: Celebrity News — @ 1:15 pm

Paul McCartney was ordered to pay Heather Mills $48.6 million to settle their divorce. A document released by the Family Court said the judge awarded Mills a lump sum of $33 million plus the assets she currently holds worth $15.6 million.”I’m so, so happy with this,” Mills told reporters following the closed hearing. The court also ruled that the couple’s 4-year-old daughter should receive a “periodical payments order” of $70,000 per annum. On top of that, McCartney will pay for the child’s nanny and school fees.”It was an incredible result in the end to secure mine and my daughter’s future and that of all the charities that I obviously plan on helping and making a difference with, because you know it has been my life for 20 years,” she said. McCartney and Mills went to court last month to decide on Mills’ share of his fortune, which had been estimated at as much as $1.6 billion. Judge Hugh Bennett, however, found that the total value of all of McCartney’s assets, including his business assets, was about $800 million. Mills said the settlement vindicated her decision to fire her lawyers. The legal fees, she said, “instead could easily go to charity.” The settlement has been a long time coming for the couple, who separated two years ago, after four years of marriage. At the time they said the parting was “amicable” and insisted “both of us still care about each other very much.” But the split had grown contentious after McCartney filed for divorce alleging his wifes “unreasonable behavior.” Mills claimed McCartney had failed to protect her and their daughter from slander, death threats and other abuse, and accused the media of persecuting her. In November, Mills said she had been “treated worse than a murderer” despite years of work for land mine victims and animal welfare charities.

A representative for Hustler Magazine has confirmed that a seven-figure offer will be made to Dupre.”Larry Flynt and Hustler Magazine will be offering $1 Million to Ashley Dupre to pose for Hustler Magazine,” the spokesperson said. “We want this to happen as soon as possible.” But the folks at Hustler aren’t the only ones willing to pay for the rights to feature Ashley in the buff.”We would love to see Ashley appear on our Web site. We are reaching out to her attorney and preparing a deal memo. She could wind up being the highest paid actress in adult entertainment,” Vivid Entertainment Co-Chairman Steven Hirsch said. Ashley Alexandra Dupre, the woman at the center of the New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer call girl scandal will have no problem cashing in on her notoriety, ‘Penthouse’ and ‘Hustler’ are already calling.”We’ve been looking at that very closely. She’s young. She’s pretty. She’s a model,” said Hustler magazine publisher Larry Flynt. “We would love to do business with her, and we will approach her.” ‘Penthouse’ has been trying to reach Dupre, too, but had yet to make contact. Penthouse Magazine Group president and publisher Diane Silberstein said she would “love to have her in the magazine and would consider offering her a cover shot.”"She sounds like a very interesting and talented young woman, and I’m sure she has a great story to tell,” Silberstein said. “We promise to make it worth her while.” Dupre was thrust into the limelight when she was identified as the high-priced call girl whose arrangements for a rendezvous with Spitzer at a Washington, D.C., hotel were secretly monitored by the FBI. Flynt suggested that by the time Dupre starts talking she may be too big a media phenomenon for a simple magazine spread.”She is no doubt going to do a book. There will probably be a movie,” he said. “I think she is going to have so many offers coming in that it will probably be wishful thinking just to get in the door.”

Locklear Suicide Hoax

The man who made a hoax emergency call claiming Heather Locklear was a suicide risk told authorities he was a doctor concerned for her safety. Ventura County Fire Department sent two paramedic units to Locklear’s Thousand Oaks, California home after receiving the 911 call. The phone call didn’t originate from Locklear’s property and the paramedics quickly realized there was no suicide risk. Officials released a tape recording of the emergency call, in which a man, whose name has not been released, can be heard telling a 911 operator: “I have a patient and I have a feeling she’s suicidal. And I would want someone to go (check up on her).”A spokesperson for Locklear said, “I spoke with Heather and she is fine. She never requested medical assistance and did not place a 911 call. Nor did anyone from her house call 911 or place a call requesting medical assistance.”

Call-Girl Dupre Talks

Filed under: Celebrity News — @ 1:48 pm

The woman who investigators said Gov. Eliot Spitzer chose for a sexual tryst, has been identified as a 22-year-old New Jersey native. The woman, previously known only as “Kristen” was legally named Ashley Youmans, but now calls herself Ashley Alexandra Dupre. Dupre, a former resident of Belmar, N.J., lives in a Flatiron District apartment where a throng of media showed up last night.”Kristen,” according to an investigation, met with Spitzer on Feb. 13 at the Mayflower Hotel in Washington for sex, a meeting arranged through the international call-girl Emperor’s Club. Spitzer, who was referred to by an FBI agent in an affidavit as “Client 9,” paid $4,300 for the session, one of many that investigators said he had with women employed by the prostitution ring that operated in cities worldwide. Spitzer, who announced his resignation, may have paid up to $80,000 for such services over time. The Emperor’s Club ranked women by their physical assets and other traits, and charged as much as $5,500 per hour. “Kristen” was described in an affidavit as “an American, petite, very pretty brunette, 5 feet, 5 inches, and 105 pounds.” Dupre describes herself on her MySpace page as a lover of music. The page is candid, reciting the disturbing details of a hard life.”I am all about my music, and my music is all about me,” she writes. “It flows from what I’ve been through, what I’ve seen and how I feel. I live in New York and am on top of the world. Been here since 2004 and I love this city, I love my life here.”"But my path has not been easy. When I was 17, I left home. It was my decision and I’ve never looked back. Left my hometown. Left a broken family. Left abuse. Left an older brother who had already split. Left and learned what it was like to have everything, and lose it, again and again.”

Spitzer Resigns

New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer resigned in disgrace Wednesday after getting caught in a call-girl scandal that shattered his corruption-fighting, straight-arrow image, saying: “I cannot allow my private failings to disrupt the people’s work.” Spitzer made the announcement without having finalized a plea deal with federal prosecutors, though a law enforcement source familiar with the investigation said he is believed to still be negotiating one.”I go forward with the belief as others have said that as human beings our greatest glory consists not in never falling but in rising every time we fall,” Spitzer said at a Manhattan news conference with his wife, Silda, at his side. He left without answering any questions. Spitzer will be replaced, effective Monday, by Lt. Gov. David Paterson. The scandal erupted Monday when allegations surfaced that Spitzer, father of three teen daughters, spent thousands of dollars on a call girl at a swanky Washington hotel on the night before Valentine’s Day. The announcement followed two days of furious activity. Calls for his resignation came immediately. Republicans began talking impeachment if he didn’t step aside. The case started when banks noticed frequent cash transfers from several accounts and filed suspicious activity reports with the Internal Revenue Service, a law enforcement official said. The accounts were traced back to Spitzer, leading public corruption investigators to open an inquiry. In a statement issued after the announcement, U.S. Attorney Michael Garcia said there was no deal with the disgraced governor: “There is no agreement between this office and Governor Eliot Spitzer, relating to his resignation or any other matter.”

Spitzer’s Resignation

New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer was joined by his wife as he held a March 10 news conference to discuss charges he was involved in a prostition ring. He did not deny a report of his involvement with the prostitution ring, but also did not provide specifics. A growing chorus of critics called on Gov. Spitzer to resign immediately amid a federal wiretap investigation linking him to a high-end prostitute. Republican Jim Tedisco leads the charge by demanding that the New York governor, linked to a call girl, step down within 48 hours. Reporters were camped outside his 5th Avenue Manhattan apartment as reports emerged detailing how investigators initially became suspicious of the governor’s unusual financial transactions. According to a source, banks had noticed transfers from several accounts, which were traced back to Spitzer, sparking a corruption investigation. Investigators discovered that cash payments he made to phantom accounts turned out to be operated by an expensive call-girl organization, the Emperors Club. Emperors Club prostitutes regularly worked in Los Angeles, Miami, London and Paris as well as New York and Washington, D.C. according to court documents. In Albany, Republican Jim Tedisco, minority leader of the state, ramped up his charges for Spitzer to step down within the next 48 hours.”This is really going over the top in terms of a breach of ethics for a governor,” Tedisco said. “It really illustrates he has compromised his ability to lead.” When it comes to governing the state of New York, Tedisco added: “We don’t believe he can lead it now.” Using court-ordered wiretaps, investigators tracked Spitzer’s behavior, which included arranging to meet the prostitute, known as “Kristen,” in Washington, D.C., on Feb. 13, and spending four hours with her. Spitzer was known as “Client 9″ in court documents, according to a source familiar with the case, and he allegedly paid Kristen $2,700 for her services, in addition to $1,600 for future services.

Producer Backs Hernandez

David Hernandez’s previous employment as a male stripper apparently isn’t grounds for the ‘American Idol’ seventh-season semifinalist to be disqualified from the competition.”No, it won’t make any difference,” ‘Idol’ executive producer Ken Warwick said when asked if Hernandez’s past would impact his present place on the show.”The truth is, we’re never judgmental about what people do to earn a living. They’ve got to put food in people’s mouths. We’ve had strippers on the show before. We’re never judgmental about people who do things like that. If it were some sort of heavy porn, then maybe we’d have to take action. But certainly not on this.” Hernandez worked as a male stripper at Dick’s Cabaret, where he appeared fully nude and performed lap dances for the establishments “mostly male” patrons, the Phoenix club’s manager Gordy Bryan confirmed. Warwick said he wasn’t aware of Hernandez’s former job before it was reported.”But the truth of the matter is, it wouldn’t have made any difference,” he said. “There are a lot of people I know who’d love to have the opportunity just to make a better living by taking their clothes off.”Warwick said regardless of Hernandez’s work as a male stripper, he’s proved he belongs in the competition.”I mean, David Hernandez, whatever you say, is a nice guy,” Warwick said. “And he can sing. He’s got a great voice. He deserves to be there, as far as I’m concerned.”"The thing is, at the end, the public will make the decision anyway,” Warwick said about Hernandez’s fate. “If there’s a stretch of the public that thinks, ‘Oh, dear, he was a male stripper, so I’m not going to vote for him,’ then that’s the luck of the draw. If the public doesn’t like him, then they’ll get rid of him.”

Spears’ Father Controls

Filed under: Celebrity News — @ 12:56 pm

A court commissioner ruled that Britney Spears’ father will retain control of her finances and estate for another five months. Superior Court Commissioner Reva Goetz extended Jamie Spears’ control until July 31, said court spokesman Alan Parachini. Parachini wasn’t immediately able to provide more information. James Spears was named co-conservator of Britney’s estate after she was hospitalized twice in January. His temporary authority to handle her affairs was to expire March 10. In the year leading up to the hospitalizations, Spears had been caught on camera by paparazzi engaging in increasingly bizarre behavior. She shaved her head, beat a vehicle with an umbrella, and wore skirts without underwear. The strange outbursts and hospitalizations contributed to Spears losing custody of her young sons. Ex-husband Kevin Federline continues to have full custody. Spears was allowed brief visits with the boys beginning in late February after not seeing them for nearly two months. That happened after Spears and Federline “agreed to a modification of the court’s order” that had stripped Spears of her visitation rights, according to Federline attorney Mark Vincent Kaplan.

Smith’s Sole Heir

Anna Nicole Smith’s daughter will inherit her late mother’s estate. A Los Angeles judge not only made her 18-month-old daughter, Dannielynn the sole heir, but also set up a trust in the girl’s name. Her father, Larry Birkhead, and Smith’s executor, Howard K. Stern, will be co-trustees. Superior Court Judge Mitchell Beckloff granted a petition filed by Stern, who wanted to clarify Smith’s intentions toward her daughter. Smith drafted a will in 2001, five years before the child was born, that left her estate to her then only child, Daniel. However, it said the assets in Daniel’s trust should be shared equally if she had future children. Daniel was 20 when he died in 2006, three days after Dannielynn was born.”We and Mr. Stern always believed that Anna Nicole never intended to disinherit her daughter,” Stern’s lawyer, Bruce S. Ross, said after the hearing. “I’m pleased to say this chapter in the saga is closed.” Dannielynn could inherit millions of dollars if the estate wins an ongoing court fight over the oil fortune of Smith’s late second husband, J. Howard Marshall. Smith at one point won a $474 million judgment but it was eventually reduced to zero. In 2006, the U.S. Supreme Court reinstated her claim.

David Hernandez won’t be stripped of his chance to compete on ‘American Idol.’ A person close to the show, who is not authorized to comment publicly and asked not to be identified, said that there were no plans to remove Hernandez from the competition, despite his past as a male stripper.Hernandez once worked as an adult entertainer at Dick’s Cabaret in Phoenix, appearing fully nude and performing lap dances for the club’s mostly male clientele, strip club manager Gordy Bryan said. Fox and the producers declined to comment on Hernandez, who performed a song from the 80’s in a live telecast Tuesday with the other male singers as the semifinalists are narrowed down this week to the final 12 contestants. Dick’s Cabaret manager Bryan said he was aware that Hernandez was a vocalist, but that Hernandez never sang at the club. Bryan said he now believes Hernandez stopped working at the strip club on Sept. 30, 2007, because of his participation in ‘Idol.’ Hernandez said he broke the lease on his apartment and lived out of his car before auditioning for ‘Idol.’ And, when asked which talent would he would most like to have if he couldn’t sing, Hernandez said, “Dancing! I’m horrible at that.”
